History

Sauron [17]3 years ago

Benefits: an international organization can provide security, trade opportunities, stronger relationship possibilities and finally can give them a stronger voice in the international scheme of things. International organizations can provide smaller states an opportunity for stronger economic power.

Risks: There are three additional issues that international organizations confront if they want to enhance legitimacy and trust: governance issues, conflicts of interest, and poor leadership.

I hope this helps

How does poverty in one nation have an impact beyond that nation
anastassius [24]

The poverty of the inhabitants of a country has a primary impact in the country itself and also a secondary impact in other countries, especially those that are geographically closer and those that have a greater commercial relationship.

As a country has lower purchasing power, it will decrease the imports of goods and services offered by other countries.

Inhabitants of poorer countries tend to migrate to countries with higher incomes and consequently greater opportunities. This is why demographic changes can occur in both nations.

When a nation's economy occurs unexpectedly it can affect financial assets of countries that have particularities in common with it because financial markets often interpret that shared variables will also be a common cause of decline for them.

What did Homer Plessy do to get himself arrested? Why did he want to do this? Who did the Supreme Court rule in favor of and why
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

Plessy v. Ferguson was a landmark 1896 U.S. Supreme Court decision that upheld the constitutionality of racial segregation under the “separate but equal” doctrine. The case stemmed from an 1892 incident in which African American train passenger Homer Plessy refused to sit in a car for Black people. Rejecting Plessy’s argument that his constitutional rights were violated, the Supreme Court ruled that a law that “implies merely a legal distinction” between white people and Black people was not unconstitutional. As a result, restrictive Jim Crow legislation and separate public accommodations based on race became commonplace. Over the next few years, segregation and Black disenfranchisement picked up pace in the South, and was more than tolerated by the North. Congress defeated a bill that would have given federal protection to elections in 1892, and nullified a number of Reconstruction laws on the books.

Then, on May 18, 1896, the Supreme Court delivered its verdict in Plessy v. Ferguson. In declaring separate-but-equal facilities constitutional on intrastate railroads, the Court ruled that the protections of 14th Amendment applied only to political and civil rights (like voting and jury service), not “social rights” (sitting in the railroad car of your choice).

In its ruling, the Court denied that segregated railroad cars for Black people were necessarily inferior. “We consider the underlying fallacy of [Plessy’s] argument,” Justice Henry Brown wrote, “to consist in the assumption that the enforced separation of the two races stamps the colored race with a badge of inferiority. If this be so, it is not by reason of anything found in the act, but solely because the colored race chooses to put that construction upon it.”

Drawing Conclusions According to Hobbes, what do people mistakenly assume when
Pachacha [2.7K]

Explanation:

Everything Hobbes described is woven into the fabric of our thinking even if you’ve never read him. He believed in self-preservation at all costs and he put this belief into practice when he proudly declared himself as “one of the first to flee” at the outbreak of the Civil War. Afterwards, he was quick to return when the French government was unable to offer the same protection as the commonwealth. He thought allowances should be made for a natural timorousness.

Hobbes is important because he believed the origin of rights was found in our fear of a violent death and this is the origin of law and the state. Hobbes denied the moral value of all virtues that do not proceed from this fear. Our desire for peace is the fundamental law of nature.

From the way I understand it, Hobbes thought the good life was not found in striving for human excellence, but in commodious living. This seems to be the foundation of modern life and we may need to challenge this belief or perhaps offer an alternative. It’s hard to do this without taking Hobbes seriously.
