The setting tells what place the story takes place in. The setting also can tell where the characters stay and where they are from.
we waited for the train but the train was late.( compound sentence) we came back home.(simple) I did not see my mom home because mom arrived at the bus station before noon.( complex) The journey was fun(independent), though I missed half of it.(dependent)
