The second continental congress decided to make a continental army that involved George Washington in being commander-in-chief. They also adopted the "declaration of causes of necessity of taking up arms" which means that they will have a war, and they had the Revolutionary war. And finally, they endorsed the olive branch petition, meaning that they agreed that the colonists will not attempt to go to war with Britain during the American Revolution. The Olive branch petition made colonists pledged that they have their rights and British citizens.
