The ancient Greeks lived on a rocky and mountainous peninsula. Fertile land/soil was scarce in the mountainous regions but mild climate allowed for some farming. People lived in isolated communities. Mountains made travel by land difficult and dangerous so people mostly traveled by sea. Greek culture was spread easily due to several islands surrounding the peninsula and sea travel.

It offers a structured, objective technique for performing experiments, which enhances the outcomes. Scientists use methods to study and answer questions and discover new things in a systematic manner.

The thinking of René Descartes shows that he doubts on every concept until it gets proved which is a characteristic of the scientific method. He believes in logical questioning and using methods to answer any queries that reflect the scientific methods.
