I might be wrong but...

The French believed the Ohio River was their territory because back when England and France and Spain owned most of North America, The French and English were fairly close to the Ohio River.

So therefore, since the French was fairly close to the Ohio River, which was “technically” owned by the most of the English, they thought they owned most or all of The Ohio River.

I might be wrong, so I’d recommend to be wary (careful) on this question and my answer.

What were 3 ways in which Askia Muhammad encouraged the growth of Islam in<br> Songhai?
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

Askia Muhammad I (1443 – 1538), born Muhammad Ture sylla or Muhammed Touré sylla in Futa Tooro, later called Askia, also known as Askia the Great, was an emperor, military commander, and political reformer of the Songhai Empire[1] in the late 15th century. He was from the Soninke ethnic group. Askia Muhammad strengthened his empire and made it the largest empire in West Africa's history. At its peak under his reign, the Songhai Empire encompassed the Hausa states as far as Kano (in present-day Northern Nigeria) and much of the territory that had belonged to the Songhai empire in the east. His policies resulted in a rapid expansion of trade with Europe and Asia, the creation of many schools, and the establishment of Islam as an integral part of the empire.

Various Germanic tribes migrated into other regions. Many Germanic tribes merged, including the Angles with the Saxons in England, Clovis established the Frankish kingdom with established Catholicism in western Europe and Theodoric, Ostrogoths king, established  Ravenna as capital.
