For a camping trip, Blake wants to make a trail mix of almonds, walnuts and raisins. He wants one part almonds, two parts walnut

s, and three parts raisins. Almonds cost $15 per pound, walnuts cost $10 per pound, and raisins cost $5 per pound. Blake has $30 to spend on the trail mix. The equation 15x + 10(2x) + 5(3x) = 30 models the pounds, x. How many pounds of trail mix can Blake buy?

We are given equation: 15x + 10(2x) + 5(3x) = 30.

Where x represents number of pounds.

Almost cost = $15 per pound.

Therefore, cost of x pounds of almonds = 15*x = 15x .

Walnuts cost = $10 per pound.

We have two parts walnuts.

Therefore, cost of 2 times x pounds of walnuts = 10*(2x).

Raisins cost = $5 per pound.

We are given three parts raisins.

Therefore, cost of 3 times x pounds of raisnis = 5*(3x).

Total money spent = $30.

Let us solve the given equation for x now.

15x + 10(2x) + 5(3x) = 30.

15x + 20x +15x = 30.

Combining like terms, we get

50x = 30.

Dividing both sides by 50, we get

50x/50 = 30/50.

x=0.6

Therefore, number of pounds of Almonds = 0.6 pound.

Walnuts = 2x = 2*0.6 = 1.20 pounds.

Raisins = 3x = 3*0.6 = 1.80 pounds.

Therefore, total number of pounds of trail mix can Blake buy = 0.6 + 1.20 + 1.80 = 3.60 pounds.

Solve for x: 4 over 5 x + 4 over 3 = 2x x = __________________ Write your answer as a fraction in simplest form. Use the "/" sym
alexgriva [62]
Let's see.

4x/5 + 4/3 = 2x

First we have to make each denominator the same, so I'll multiply 4x/5 by 3/3, 4/3 by 5/5, and 2x by 15/15

Now we have 12x/15 + 20/15 = 30x/15

With everything in the same denominator we can solve the new equation of
12x + 20 = 30x

20 = 18x

10 = 9x

X= 10/9

1. In a 30-60-90 triangle, the length of the hypotenuse is 6. What is the length of the shortest
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

b. 3

Step-by-step explanation:

In a 30°-60°-90° triangle, the short side is ½ the hypotenuse [the long side is double the short side].

30°-60°-90° Triangles

x√3 → long side

x → short side

2x → hypotenuse

45°-45°-90° Triangles

x → two legs

x√2 → hypotenuse

the length of a rectangular sing is 5 time its width. if the sign perimeter is 24 inches. what is the sign area ?
kumpel [21]

Answer:

20 in²

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming that the width of the sign is x, then from the question, we're told that the length is 5 times it's width, so

b = x inches

l = 5x inches

Again, we're told that the perimeter of the sign is 24 inches, and we know already that the perimeter of a rectangle is given as

Perimeter = 2(l + b), substituting this, we have

24 = 2(5x + x)

24 = 10x + 2x

24 = 12x

x = 24 / 12

x = 2 inches.

Since x is the width of the rectangle, and it's 2 inches, we use it to find the length of the sign.

l = 5 * 2

l = 10 inches.

Then, we are asked to find the area of the sign. Area of a rectangle is given as

A = l * b, so if we substitute, we have

Area = 10 * 2

Area = 20 square inches

Parallelogram R S T U is shown. Angle S is 70 degrees.
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

B. m∠R = 110°, m∠T = 110°, m∠U = 70°

Step-by-step explanation:

The opposite angles of the parallelogram are the same.

From the diagram;

<S = <U and <R = <T

Given

<S = 70°

Since <S = <U, hence <U = 70°

Since the sum of angles in a quadrilateral is 360 degrees, hence;

<R+<S+<T+<U = 360

Since <R = <T, then;

<Y+<S+<T+<U = 360

2<T + 70+70 = 360

2<T = 360-140

2<T = 220

<T = 220/2

<T = 110°

Since <T = <R, then < R = 110°

Hence m∠R = 110°, m∠T = 110°, m∠U = 70°. Option B is correct
