In a function, each x-value or independent value must only have 1 corresponding y-value or dependent value. On the other hand, in a relation, the independent value may have more than 1 corresponding dependent value. A function is a more specific case of a relation.

The following statements explain the difference between relation and function,

<span>1. Function has a special with output and input.</span>

Relation is a mapping of input and out put.

<span>2. In a function all inputs have only one output.</span>

In a relation a input can have as many outputs as it wants as long as all inputs have outputs.

<span>3. In difference between relation and function, the relation is somewhat like a entire function problem and with input and output.</span>

<span>4. In difference between relation and function, the function is merely a particular relation with accurately one output for every input.</span>

Find sin θ if θ is in Quadrant III and tan θ = . 0.958
Leokris [45]
Use the following identities:
sec^2 = 1 + tan^2 \\ \\ sec = \frac{1}{cos} \\ \\ sin^2 = 1 - cos^2
Also because the angle is in quadrant 3, sin must be negative.
Therefore
sin = - \sqrt{1 - \frac{1}{1 + tan^2}}
Subbing in tan = 0.958
sin \theta = -0.69178

Rob notices that 55 percent of the people leaving the supermarket chhose plastic bags instead of paper bags. out of 600 people,
Bumek [7]
To solve this answer, you are trying to find 55% of 600, because that is the number of people who chose plastic bag.

55% can be re-written as 55/100 OR 0.55 since percentages are always out of 100.

So, we do 0.55*600, which gives us 330. 330 people carry plastic bags.
