I was fortunate enough to not have had many situations where I was judged on content outside of my character, however there was

a time where I was judged by the group of people I was with, our ages, and possibly our nationalities. I once went to a pizzaria by myself where I ordered food, sat down and ate. I paid for my food when I was finished. The food was good and the service was pleasant. They were asking me questions like, "did i enjoy everything?" and we wished each other a good day. A few weeks later I returned back with a group of my friends and the treatment we received was completely different from what I last experienced. The server was rude and asked us to pay for the food before we ate it. He acted as though we were bothering him when we would ask for things like refills on our sodas. They never said thank you when we were finished, they didn't ask if everything was ok, and they stared at us the whole time we were eating. I feel that my friends and myself were being judged based on content other than on our characters. I feel like we were judged based on the facts that we were a group of teenagers and that we may not have had the money for the food we ordered, which was why we had to pay before we were able to eat our food. This was a big difference from when I was there alone. I also feel that we were possibly judged on our races because we were of spanish and african american cultures. The way we were being watched while we were there made us feel like they were waiting for us to do something wrong. It is unfortunate that my friends and I were judged and mistreated. Had the people in the pizza shop known my friends and I, they would have known that we are not trouble makers, we come from good familes, and are involved in school sports/activities. When you judge a book by its cover, most times those assumptions are wrong.

What moral lesson do we take from the author’s grandfather in the story?
Sauron [17]

Answer:

I'd go with the first option, because if you are writing a first-person you are using the word I a lot. and that gets kind of boring.

It helps me understand the idea of sharing to them when he says that they had to share in order to survive.
