Answer:

What were the primary methods that the U.S. Government, as well as individual reformers, used to deal with the perceived Indian threat to westward settlement?

The first strategy that was used by settlers to perceive Indians was to negotiate and move tribes out of their way. The First Treaty of Fort Laramie was “signed”, it established tribal borders in return for 50 thousand dollars annual payments for 50 years. Settlers also promised not to interfere in Indians lives.

In what ways were these methods successful and unsuccessful? What were their short-term and long-term effects on Native Americans?

The short-term effect was that The First Treaty of Fort Laramie was broken because of government corruption, the payments that were agreed never reached the tribes and some reservations were not respected. Settlers went forward forced Indian tribes out of their land.

The long term effect was that Native American tribes were pushed and pushed “out of the way” until they were completely destroyed and killed sometimes.

For the settlers, those methods were successful because they did not fulfill their agreements which permitted them to get more land and have more money.

Which act listed below outlawed public meetings and prevented the legislature of this state from making laws?
Sauron [17]

Answer: Massachusetts Government Act

Explanation:

The Massachusetts Government Act was one of the Four Intolerable Acts that the British passed over the colonies to punish dissent and maintain full control of the colonies.

The Massachusetts Government Act gave more power to the Crown through the royal governor. It took away the right of the people to vote for their own executive council, prevented the legislature from making laws and outlawed townhall and public meeting without royal assent.
