Answer:

The correct answer is Glycolysis.

Explanation:

Glycolysis is the partial breakdown of glucose into two pyruvate molecules. This reaction occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell. There is a net generation of 2 NADH and 2 ATP in the process of glycolysis. This pathway occurs in both aerobic and anaerobic conditions.

In anaerobes, it is called fermentation in which two pyruvate is converted into lactate by converting 2 NADH produced during glycolysis into 2 NAD⁺. The release of NAD⁺ than supplied to glycolysis again so that glycolysis keep running.

                       Glucose →  2 pyruvate → 2 lactate

Therefore, the glycolysis process must take place before two pyruvate molecules are converted to two lactic acid molecules.

Describe what messages are sent by the nervous system when you go outside wearing a sweater on a very hot day.
mr_godi [17]

Answer and Explanation:

In homeostatic control processes any deviation from the norm sets into motion the appropriate corrective mechanisms which restore the norm. This rectification occurs through negative feedback. When you go outside wearing a sweater on a hot day, the body sends messages to the CNS and the following occurs:

  • The superficial blood vessels vasodilate so that more blood flows near the surface. This encourages heat loss.
  • Sweating and panting. Sweat secreted by the sweat glands evaporate from the surface of the body as it absorbs latent heat.
  • The metabolic rate falls so that the body generates less heat. You also become less active
  • Behavioural response by seeking cooler areas, cold drinks or removal of the sweater.

ser-zykov [4K]

Mycoplasmas differ from other bacteria in that they Lack a cell wall.

Mycoplasmas are different from bacteria as it can cause a wide range of infections and diseases. Mycoplasmas are phenotypically distinguished from other bacteria by their small size and complete absence of a cell wall. Lack of cell wall can be used to separate the mycoplasms from bacteria. It is a genus of bacteria that, like other members of the class Mollicutes, lack a cell wall around their cell membranes. Peptidoglycan is absent. This property makes them naturally resistant to antibiotics that target cell wall synthesis. They can be parasitic or saprotrophic

Where does energy first come into an ecosystem?
Zinaida [17]

Answer:B. Sunlight provides energy to producers

Explanation: photoautotrophs (plants) produce energy from sunlight by photosynthesis. This is the only energy production based on an external source of energy. Plants, whether alive or dead, are consumed by heterotrophs - bacteria, fungi and animals. The nutrients and energy from dead heterotrophs (and some live ones) are recycled by both autotrophs and heterotrophs.
