Answer:

The bacterial DNA gets degraded at step 3 of the viral lytic cycle.

Explanation:

Viruses are organisms that are incapable of replicating on their own, hence, they require a living host which they infect and use its replicational ability to reproduce theirselves. The infection cycle of this virus is regarded as its replication cycle. Viruses employ either the LYTIC or LYSOGENIC cycle for infection.

The lytic cycle involves killing of their host cell at the end of the cycle. Generally, the cycle starts with the attachment of my the virus to the cell membrane of its host using specific receptor sites (step 1). It then penetrates the host cell as seen in step 2.

After penetration, the virus then secretes certain degrading enzymes called ENDONUCLEASES that degrades the bacterial DNA. After which the virus uses the replicational and gene expressing ability of the host to transcibe its genetic material and replicate itself. This process called SYNTHESIS occurs in step 3.

Hence, the yellow ring in the image that represents bacterial DNA disappears in step 3 (synthesis stage) because it gets degraded by viral digesting enzymes.

Proteins that function to catalyze biochemical reactions in the body are known as enzymes.

  • Proteins called enzymes aid in accelerating our bodies' chemical reactions, or metabolism. Some compounds are created, while others are broken down.
  • Enzymes are a part of all living things. Enzymes are created by our bodies spontaneously. However, food and manufactured goods both contain enzymes.
  • Proteins called enzymes assist our bodies' chemical reactions move forward more quickly.
  • For several processes, including digestion and liver function, enzymes are crucial.
  • Health issues might result from having too much or too little of a specific enzyme. Healthcare professionals can also use the enzymes in our blood to diagnose for injuries and illnesses.

Examples of a few enzymes:

  • Amylase is an enzyme made in the mouth.
  • Trypsin is created in the pancreas
  • .The stomach produces Pepsin.
  • The pancreas produces pancreatic lipase.

Cellular respiration produces ______ from ________. organic molecules are a source of ______ energy that cellular respiration tr
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

Carbon dioxide and water; organic molecules and oxygen; chemical potential; usable chemical energy in the form of ATP; heat energy that cannot do work

<u>Explanation</u>:

  • Cellular respiration produces <u>carbon dioxide and water</u> from <u>organic molecules and oxygen</u>; organic molecules are a source of <u>chemical potential energy</u> that cellular respiration transfers into <u>usable chemical energy in the form of ATP</u> and transforms into <u>heat energy that cannot do work</u>.
  • <u><em>Cellular respiration</em></u> is a process that takes place in the mitochondria in living organisms cells. It is the powerhouse of a cell.
  • <em><u>The process involves the break down of organic molecules such as glucose, in presence of oxygen, to generate energy in the form of ATP, which is the usable form of energy by the cells to drive processes such as transport, growth and development, etc.</u></em>
  • The process converts chemical potential energy in organic compounds to usable chemical energy in the form of ATP. Carbon dioxide and water are also produced as by-products during the process.
