Last year three people went to the beach. They each drank the same number of canned drinks and had 6 drinks leftover. This year

only two of the people went to the beach. They brought the same number of drinks as last year and drank the same number of drinks each as last year, but they had 12 drinks leftover. How many beverages did each friend drink?

Answer:

6 drinks

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of drinks each of them drank last year be x. Now the total amount of drink they drank is 3 × x = 3x.

The total amount of drink brought is

3x + 6.

This year they brought the same number of drinks I.e 3x + 6. They still drank same number each as at last year.

This means each also drank x again. Now the total number of drinks drank this year is 2 ×x = 2x.

The total drinks brought however is the addition with the left over. This means total drinks brought this year is 2x + 12

Since the drinks brought last year equals drinks brought this year, this mean:

2x + 12 = 3x + 6

By rearranging, we find x = 6

Find the measurement of the angle
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

∠ 1 = 120°

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that ∠ Q and ∠ R are congruent, that is both 30°, thus

∠ 1 = 180° - (30 + 30)° = 180° - 60° = 120°

A UFO is coming in to pick up some test subjects. Their elevation above the ground is 60,000 feet. Their laser sights tell them
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

41.83°

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that :

The vertical distance of the UFO from the ground = 60,000 feet

The diagonal distance of the landing area to the UFO = 90,000 feet

In order to find the angle of depression, we have to use the trigonometric ratios, i.e.,

$\sin \ \theta = \frac{\text{perpendicular distance}}{\text{hypotenus}}$

$\sin \ \theta = \frac{60,000}{90,000}$

$\sin \ \theta = \frac{2}{3}$

$\sin \ \theta = 0.667$

∴ $\theta = \sin^{-1 }(0.667)$

     = 41.83°
