U.S. foreign policy during the 1920s was characterized by the enactment of isolationist policies: for instance, the US foreign policy towards the League of Nations: US opted not to join even though it had been the nation to first propose such international cooperation. Instead, the United States focused on building the domestic economy by supporting business growth, encouraging industrial expansion, imposing tariffs on imported products and limiting immigration.
