Hey there! Hello!

For this problem, I believe all the question is asking is for you to determine the function that this set of points is represented by. If you get access to some graph paper (or make your own) and plot a few of these points, you can see that there is a pattern. Once you get to do this more often, you can recognize the patterns without doing this step. For example:

0 – 4.5 = –4.5
–4.5 – 4.5 = –9, so on...

This will reveal that the graph will be linear, which makes your job easy.

–4.5x = y
–4.5(1) = –4.5
–4.5(2) = –9
–4.5(–1) = 4.5

I included a graph of the equation for you reference, you can see that the points will match up with the ones on your table.

Hope this helped you out! :-)

Chau's Coffee Shop makes a blend that is a mixture of two types of coffee. Type A coffee costs Chau $5.50 per pound, and type B
Anettt [7]

84 pounds of Type B coffee is used

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Let "x" be the pounds of type A coffee

Let "y" be the pounds of type B coffee

Cost per pound of type A = $ 5.50

Cost per pound of Type B = $ 4.20

<em><u>This month, Chau made 143 pounds of the blend</u></em>

x + y = 143

x = 143 - y -------- eqn 1

<em><u>For a total cost of $677.30. Thus we frame a equation as:</u></em>

pounds of type A coffee x Cost per pound of type A + pounds of type B coffee x Cost per pound of Type B = 677.30

x \times 5.50 + y \times 4.20 = 677.30\\\\5.5x + 4.2y = 677.30 -------- eqn 2

<em><u>Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2</u></em>

<em><u>Substitute eqn 1 in eqn 2</u></em>

5.5(143-y) +4.2y = 677.30\\\\786.5 -5.5y + 4.2y = 677.30\\\\5.5y - 4.2y = 786.5 - 677.30\\\\1.3y = 109.2\\\\Divide\ both\ sides\ by\ 1.3\\\\y = 84

Thus 84 pounds of Type B coffee is used

Graph a line that contains the point (-5,-3) and has a slope of -2
Tpy6a [65]

Answer:

-->

Step-by-step explanation:

Graph (-5,-3) and use the slope, -2, to find another point. -2 can also be written as -\frac{2}{1}

\frac{rise}{run} =\frac{-2}{1} and  \frac{rise}{run} =\frac{2}{-1} **

Use both. This works because either way, they will lie on the same line with the same slope. So, starting at (-5,-3), go down two points (-)* and to the left 1 (+)*, then, starting at (-5,-3) again, go up two points (+)* then to the right 1 point (-)*.

* If the number is negative, you either go down or to the right. If the number is positive, you go up and to the left.

**Rise over run refers to the change in the y-axis and the change in the x-axis: \frac{rise}{run} =\frac{y-axis}{x-axis}. Only one number is negative because, if both were negative, that would make a positive number, but the slope is -2, not 2.

Another way you could do this is by finding points first. All you need to do is turn the slope into a "point". Remember, 2 is the y and 1 is the x:

-2=-\frac{2}{1} = (1,-2) and (-1,2)

Then, using (-5,-3) and your new points, add them separately:

(-5,-3)+(1,-2)\\(-5+1,-3+(-2))\\(-5+1,-3-2)\\(-4,-5)

(-4,-5) is one point

(-5,-3)+(-1,2)\\(-5+(-1),-3+2)\\(-5-1,-3+2)\\(-6,-1)

(-6,-1) is another point. Connect the three points. You can check your work on the graph:

What is the area of the semicircle (use 3.14 for ρ)?
oee [108]

Answer:

127.17cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a semicircle: πr² ÷ 2

d = 18

r = 18/2 = 9

Area of a semicircle: 9²π ÷ 2 = 127.17cm²
