In populations of all living things, there is a variation of different traits. This is important for the process of evolution and natural selection because if the individuals in the population vary in size, shape, color or any other morphological or physiological trait, the individuals can be more or less successful because of them and therefore natural selection can filter the variations that are the fittest for that environment.

According to the question, within a population of fish, genetic variation exists in the form of body color.

In the population of all living things, there is a variation of different traits---these traits are as a result of the 'genetic variation' or the different make-ups of genes in the living organism.

Further Explanation

The genes are the inherited segments of the DNA. These Genes exist in alternate versions, or alleles which determine distinct traits that can then be passed on from parents to offspring.

Within a population of fish, genetic variation exists in the form of body color. While some fish are orange, some fish are red. This is because the population of fish lives on an orange reef bed.

Fish that are orange tend to blend in and resist predation. Due to such ability, they are likely to survive to reproduce. In this manner, natural selection is driving evolution.

Genetic variation or how genes constitute to offspring is an essential process of evolution and natural selection for all living organism, including the fishes.

Fish produce many offspring which inherit the genes for body color. After several generations, one can expect the fish population to have a larger portion of orange species compared to the red species.

DNA within the cell is wrapped around nucleosomes to form chromatin. When chromatin is in the form of a 30 nm fibril, how many c
vodomira [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is option b. "20 H1, 40 H2A".

Explanation:

Chromatin is a complex that protects and condenses the genetic material comprised of DNA and proteins. When chromatin is in the form of a 30 nm fibril, nucleosomes have a regular positioning along the DNA. This means that each nucleosome is associated with a single H1 molecule. Therefore a chromatin containing 20 nucleosomes will have 20 copies of H1 and 40 copies of H2A, because each nucleosome has 2 copies of the core histone H2A.
