Answer:

Crossing over is the process by which genetic variations occur. The homologous chromosomes exchange segments of DNA which allow the genetic variations to occur. If crossing over did not occur then there would be reduced genetic variations. The offsprings will have each chromosome identical to either the male or the female chromosome. Hence, the phenomenon of crossing over and independent assortment both are very important to ensure the genetic variations.

Which of the following is NOT TRUE about Y-linked disorders?
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer:

The statement which is not true is C) They can affect males or females

Explanation:

All the chromosomes in a person are known to be autosomal chromosomes except for the sex chromosomes. The sex chromosomes are of two types: Chromosome X and chromosome Y.

Both the sex chromosomes are X in females. Males have one X chromosome and one Y chromosome. The Y chromosome is shorter than the X chromosome. The Y chromosomes occur only in males. Hence, Y- linked disorders will affect only males. These disorders will never occur in females.

nordsb [41]

Answer:

The correct answer is option B) "computers are not as trustworthy as actual prototypes are"

Explanation:

It is false to affirm that results obtained from computer simulations towards looking for solutions of real-world problems are not as trustworthy as results obtained from actual prototypes. In most cases, computer simulations had proved to be reliable, particularly when the programers use validating arithmetic and algorithms. There are multiple companies dedicated to develop computer simulations to solve real-world problems, which are constantly used and tested in scientific investigations.
