It all depends on the person and their personal preference. If you're okay with hugging them and they're okay with it then it should be fine. But if they're not then a handshake should be okay because around where I'm from a handshake is a custom.
It can be used to create many different types of art that we weren't able to in the past. It'll also be used to interact with many different people in the world. I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for though.
