Pride is a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired. Also, to be especially proud of a particular quality or skill.

My definition of pride is like a foolish sense of one's worth, like someone who thinks they're so great, that they cause themselves to do silly things to preserve their pride.

LenKa [72]
The correct answer is C.

Both recognize the power of the enemy; however, both maintain that the power of the enemy is nothing against America's power.

Roosevelt says that "the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory." Bush states that "<span>Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America."

Therefore, both say that, although the United States has been attacked, the nation's strength will defeat the enemy.</span>
