B. The past influences the present what has been lost can be regained

In this excerpt we can see that because of the past (George and her ending), she was able to find a new man.  And, with this new man, she was able to recover everything she lost, yet it was better in some instances such as her children.  None of this would have been possible had she and George remained together.
