A descriptive essay is a distinct genre type of essay writing which is descriptive and elaborative.

Further Explanation:

The individual writing the essay is liable to write a descriptive account of information about the topic of the essay. It gives the person artistic freedom to include an elaborate description of the topic. The topic may vary from being about an object, any person, place, emotion, experience or any situation. A descriptive essay does not include telling a story like a narrative essay. It also is not intended to persuade or influence the reader like persuasive essays. A descriptive essay allows the writer to focus on a particular subject and not jump into different subjects. Also, it gives a chance to the writers to move to different topics and elaborately deal with them. It provides a place where maximum information related to one subject can be achieved by the reader. Descriptive essays should be written in an organized manner. It reveals the information to the reader in a logical manner.
What is the Wonderful Horse Story about?

The Wonderful Horse Story tells the story of a seaside villa that was flooded when the winter snow melted. This caused its inhabitants to be unable to plant or take care of their animals because only the church tower had been left visible.

With this problem they had to ask for help from the prince of their village and he ordered them to return to their homes and that he was going to help them dry up the town. Hours later, he went out with his horse and made him drink the water that covered the town.

The horse drank all the water that covered the town and allowed people to return to their homes to continue their lives as before. The next morning all the people noticed that there was a large lake that smelled like horses.
