The answer is: excessive pride.

Perseus is tricked by King Polydectes to fight the Medusa in an attempt to get rid of him in order to marry his beautiful mother, Danae. Pretending to have the intention of marrying another woman, Hippodamia, the King requests gifts in the form of horses to be brought to him. Perseus is unable to provide the gift but asks Polydectes to name whatever other gift he wishes so that he can reestablish his honor. The King asks for the head of the Medusa. Since Perseus, having previously boasted of his gifts as a fighter, even claiming to be able to slay the Gorgons (Medusa being the only Mortal Gorgon), accepts the challenge out of an excessive pride. He does slay the Medusa and, when he returns, turn Polydectes into stone by showing him his victory trophy, the head of the Medusa.

When making inferences about the author’s purpose, what should you use to support your analysis? I. evidence from the story II.
Zanzabum

The correct answer is I and III only.

When you read a text and want to decide what the author's purpose for writing it was, then you need to take a look at the evidence he or she presented, as well as whether or not that evidence was appropriate. What is irrelevant here, however, is how fast or how slow you read the text - that has nothing to do with the author's purpose.

Which piece of advice from Last Lecture best supports the idea that it is important to achieve your dreams?
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer: Never give up

Explanation:

A piece of evidence that is best-supporting ideas of the author of ''The Last Lecture'' is to never give up but besides that, it is also important to have fun, help other people, have good role models, and to be loyal.

Randy Pausch, the author, is telling the people that even if you 'fail', you will receive an experience that can help you in the lifetime. If you give up, you will end without experience.

-Apologize when you scr:w up and Find the best in everybody is his advice when you need help from people.

-He is saying that gratitude is also important for achieving your dreams but a piece of advice that comes first when he is talking about achieving dreams is to never give up.
