Congress was not in session, so there was no immediate objection from that quarter. However, Congress reconvened in December and refused to seat the Southern representatives.

Reconstruction had produced another deadlock between the president and Congress.

What were the casualties of Lexington and Concord?

For the colonists side in the Battle of Lexington and Concord, <span>49 were killed, 39 were wounded, and 5 were missing.

For the British side, </span><span>73 were killed, 174 were wounded, and 26 were missing.

Totalled from both sides, there were 122 killed, 213 wounded, and 31 missing.

If the citizens were not required, no one may want to. On jury, you may have a case that may take a long time and you may end up sentencing someone to death. It is likely if citizens were not required that no one would want to volunteer.
