Why did the Whig Party disintegrate? How and when did this lead to the creation of the Republican Party?

The Whig party disintegrated mostly over slavery: the northern Whigs were often anti-slavery and the Southern Whigs were mostly slave owners, therefore they would be pro-slavery.

The Republican party was formed in 1854 by the anti-slavery Whigs, together with other politicians -the same year as when the Whig party was dissolved!

the connection is that the anti-slavery Whig Party members that still wanted to be in politics needed a party to work with - so they participated in the creation of the Republican Party.

Why might socialization change, not just between families, but also within the same family over time?
topjm [15]
It seems that you have missed the necessary options for us to choose from so I had to look for it. Anyway, here is the answer. The reason why might socialization change, not just between families, but also within the same family over time is that parents have no experience when their first child is born, so every subsequent child is socialized according to what has been learned with older siblings. Hope this helps.
