Which theme best represents Bradbury’s story “The Pedestrians”?
ad-work [718]

Answer:

D. Humans will lose touch with one another if they allow technology to dominate their lives.

Explanation:

One of the main themes of "The Pedestrian" is the degradation of the human in society as a result of the technological evolution. In this highly-developed human community, houses are like crypts where people sit in front of their TVs and watch like if they were inanimate, not interacting with each other.

Llana [10]

The first use of the phrase is matter-of-fact. In the second stanza, the statement is followed by a period, which shows resignation. However, at the end of the poem, Dunbar almost shouts the phrase defiantly. The mask seems to become something he wears proudly. Through this gradual emphasis on the phrase, Dunbar could be implying that African Americans used the "mask" to hide their suffering and gain a kind of victory against society.

Why does the daughter leave the old couple in “The Crane Maiden”?
astra-53 [7]
When she started making fabric for them, she made them promise not to look inside the room she would make them in. They broke their promise and found out she was a crane the old man had saved earlier in the story. Due to the fact she could not trust them, she was forced to leave for her own safety. I'm sorry if this answer isn't accurate, I haven't gone over this story in a very long time.
