Susan and John are buying cold drinks for a neighborhood picnic. Each person is expected to drink one can of soda. Susan says th

at if you multiply the unit price for a can of soda by the number of people attending the picnic, you will be able to determine the total cost of the soda. John says that if you divide the cost of a 12 pack of soda by the number of sodas, you will determine the total cost of the sodas. Who is right, and why?

John's method will find you the price of each individual can of soda.Susan's method will find you the total cost of the soda. total number of cost = the number of things x the cost of each thing

Susan is right. Susan's method helps you find the cost because through her method, you can find the total cost based on the number of people attending. John's method will help determine how many soda packs are needed.

Hope this helps you! :D

Identify the degree of the polynomial x^2y+5xy^3-7y^2+2
netineya [11]

We have three parts of the equation with a power:

x^2y, 5xy^3, and 7y^2

We can find the degree of each by the following:

x^2y; 2 + 1 = 3

5xy^3; 1 + 3 = 4

7y^2; 2

Therefore, the highest degree is 4.

Best of Luck!

A motorcycle and a car leave an intersection at the same time. the motorcycle heads north at an average speed of 20 miles per h
satela [25.4K]
First, determine the distance of the motorcycle and the car from the start point. The distance could be determined using
\boxed{d=v \times t}
d stands for distance, v stands for speed, t stands for time

The car
d = 48 × t
d = 48t

The motorcycle
d = 20 × t
d = 20t

At the end of t hours, the car is 48t miles (east) from the start point and the motorcycle is 20t miles (north) from the start point.

Second, determine the distance between 48t miles at east and 20t miles at north using pythagoras
distance = \sqrt{(48t)^{2}+(20t)^{2}}
distance = \sqrt{2304t^{2}+400t^{2}}
distance = \sqrt{2704t^{2}}
distance = 52t

The expression for their distance apart at the end of t hours is 52t
