Why is the main character, Nnaemeka, unsure of whether or not his father will be happy about the engagement?

In Chinua Achebe's short story, Marriage is A Private Affair, the lead character, Nnaemeka wants to marry Nene, the girl that he loves, but his father wants him to marry to the girl that he has chosen for his son. It is the beginning of the conflict between the father and son and also between the traditional and modern values which runs throughout the story. Therefore, Nnaemeka is unsure what will his father say, how will he react after learning that he is going to marry the girl that he himself has chosen.

if i were a superhero i will be a time stop person. I need this skill because i have to do everyday task like to complete my assignment and homework play and spend time with my friends. That's why i don't get enough time and i need that skill. My greatest motivation is to the Lord. I want my root to come from the heaven. I love this superpower. I don't want to be invisible or flyable. Instead i would like the power to physically and psychologically cure others. The goal of superhero generally is to to good things and help others. There are various ways a person with special power could achieve this feat. Though I believe it will suit me better to have the ability to heal people. Having power doesn't allow me to wear any extravagant outfits or costumes. Rather i guess i had to wear dress like anyone else so as not to differentiate myself from others. It can be harmful to show our abilities off to the world because it will give you a big ego. I have ever acquired this talent, I hope i can use it to the best of my abilities.
