Answer:

The answer is letter C. The Cyclops.

Explanation:

In literature, an antagonist can be anything that offers some sort of conflict or hostility, maybe a challenge for the main characters. However, the antagonist is usually a character as well, one that opposes the protagonist. Thus, antagonists are often characterized as evil and dangerous, while protagonists are usually good and heroic.

In the epic poem "The Odyssey", the main character and hero is Ulysses, also called Odysseus. At a certain point in the story, he is antagonized by the Cyclops - gigantic one-eyed monsters. One of the Cyclops immediately smashes the heads of two of Odysseus' soldiers and eats them. Odysseus and his men are trapped. They only manage to escape due to Odysseus wit, courage, and intelligence.

lidiya [134]

Answer:

According to Poe, the following are some requirements for the short story genre:

1. The short story should be able to be read in one sitting (not more than one to two hours).

2. The first line must have an effect about what the story is about.

3. The story must strive for unity of effect. Poe believed that the aim of the short story was to create a mood or an an ambiance.

4. It should also aim for truth. Poe believed that the story should remain true to the way people really act in a given situation.
