Amount/price=18/2.76
18/2.76=x/2.07
times both sides by 2.76*2.07 aka cross multiply
18*2.07=2.76x
37.26=2.76x
divide both sides by 2.76
13.5=x

costs $13.5

$2.76/18 • $2.07/x cross multiply these proportions $2.76•x = $2.76x. $2.07•18= $37.26 then divide by 2.76 on both sides $2.76/$2.76 that cancels out and you get x $37.26/$2.76= 13.5 so that means x= 13.5 your answer is 13.5

53. Chris's food truck sells grilled cheese sandwiches for $4 85 and deep
prisoha [69]

Answer:

The number of grilled cheese sandwiches sold was 132 and the number of deep  fried Twinkies sold was 271

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x -----> the number of grilled cheese sandwiches

y -----> the  number of deep  fried Twinkies

we know that

The system of equations that represent this scenario is equal to

x+y=403 ------> equation A

4.85x+2.95y=1,439.65 ------> equation B

Solve the system by graphing

Remember that the solution is the intersection point both graphs

The solution is the point (132,271)

see the attached figure

therefore

The number of grilled cheese sandwiches sold was 132 and the number of deep  fried Twinkies sold was 271

What is the smallest of 3 consecutive positive integers if the product of the smaller two integers is 5 less than 5 times the la
olga55 [171]
Let's say the first number is "a"
the next consecutive can just be "a+1" and  the next, you guessed it, "a+2"
the two smaller ones are a and a+1, the larger one is a+2

now, the product of "a" and "a+1" equals 5 times "a+2" but less by 5

thus   a(a + 1) = 5(a + 2) - 5   <----- solve for "a"

A television game show begins with 20 contestants. Each week, the players vote 2 contestants off the show. What is the rate of c
nadya68 [22]

Using a linear function, it is found that the rate of change in this problem situation is of -2 contestants per week.

<h3>What is a linear function?</h3>

A linear function is modeled by:

y = mx + b

In which:

  • m is the slope, which is the rate of change, that is, by how much y changes when x changes by 1.
  • b is the y-intercept, which is the value of y when x = 0, and can also be interpreted as the initial value of the function.

Considering the situation described, the number of participants after n weeks is given by:

N(n) = 20 - 2n.

The slope is of -2, hence the rate of change in this problem situation is of -2 contestants per week.
