Answer:  the declaration of war on Japan by the Soviet Union on August 9, 1945.

Many opponents of the atomic bomb believed there were alternatives, and that Japan might have surrendered without the bombs being dropped. One of these alternatives was to wait for the Russians.

Japan needed to accept the inevitability of defeat in order to stop its fighting. This could not come from the Americans, but could have been delivered by the Russians because of the strength of their army and their geographical location. Stalin had initially planned to declare war on Japan in August 15, and the U. S. knew this. It seems like by that date, leaders from Japan, Russia and the U. S. all believed this would be a turning point for Japan. Yet the U. S., knowing this, dropped the bombs on August 6 and 9.

Damm [24]
Due process under the Fourteenth Amendment can be broken down into two categories: procedural due process and substantive due process. Procedural due process, based on principles of “fundamental fairness,” addresses which legal procedures are required to be followed in state proceedings.

The Vietnam War was fought with greater public access to information than any other
Sidana [21]

Answer:

These two factors can be related as compared to many previous wars, the Vietnam War was highly publicized and filmed in the form of news footage for many Americans to see, and many of these scenes and images were extremely gruesome and cruel. This further led to public disapproval of the war and US intervention which led to the US to pull out of the war eventually. The public should be allowed this much access as this gives us better insight on how the progress of the war is goin and gives us more knowledge about how the military conducts it's operations.

Which of the following is not a principle of Puritanism? People have no control over whether they go to heaven or hell. A person
zhenek [66]

Answer:   People have no control over whether they go to heaven or hell.

Explanation:   Puritanism was created at the end of the 16th century and in the 17th century by the English Protestants during Queen Elizabeth I. Namely, they believed that the church reform was not complete in terms of church practice. Their beliefs and principles were based on simplified and regulated church laws and forms of worship. They were strict in terms of morality, advocated the censoring of moral beliefs, they were called upon to reform the Anglican church, and that by their moral examples to challenge  those who remained in the English, to change their sinful ways and patterns. They believed that God created with them a sort of agreement, as with their chosen people, and that they lived in harmony with the scriptures and the Bible. As such, they believed that they should give an example to others, with their strict moral laws, simple life and simple doctrines of worship, thus encouraging others to be saved because people are basically sinful beings.
