The weekly total material handling cost of the layout is $74400

<u>Explanation:</u>

The following is used in order to calculated the given problem

Distance between the work areas is as follows:

AB=4

AC=9

AD=7

BC=7

BD=9

CD=9

Cost = 4 times 800 + 9 times   700 + 7 times   500 + 7 times   400 + 9 times   200 + 9 times   800 = 24800

As it costs $3 to move one work piece one foot, the total weekly cost = 24800 \times 3 = $74400

Thus, the weekly total material handling cost of the layout is $74400

IRINA_888 [86]
<span>"a 3/1 ARM" means starting at a fixed interest rate for the first 3 years and the interest rate will adjust every year after the first three years  up to the part where it mentions a "3/9 cap". This on the other hand tells us that the increase will be 3% each time there is an interest rate increase and the max increase is 9%. Hence the answer is 9%</span>

The following information relates to a company’s accounts receivable:
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

1. the year-end balance in allowance for uncollectible accounts is $6,680.

2. The bad debt for the year is -$2,320.

Explanation:

1. To calculate the year-end balance in allowance for uncollectible accounts:

First we calculate the Account Receivable which is calculated as thus:

 ==> Account Receivable (ending balance) = accounts receivable (beginning balance) + Credit sales  - cash collected - written off accounts receivable.

==> 300,000 + 1,500,000 - 1,450,000 - 16,000 = $334,000

Therefore the account receivable = $334,000.

Estimated percentage of bad debts = 2%

allowance of uncollectible accounts = Account Receivable x Estimated percentage.

==> $334,000 x 2% = $6,680

Hence, the year-end balance in allowance for uncollectible accounts is $6,680.

2. To calculate the bad debt expense for the year, we use:

allowance of uncollectible acountsl (ending balance) -  [Allowance of uncollectible account (opening balance) - accounts receivables written off)

==> $6,680 - ($25,000 - $16,000)

     = 6,680 - 9,000

     = -$2,320

The bad debt for the year is -$2,320. This is incurred when customers pay for an invoice when it has been written off.

The correct answer to the following question will be "keeping the product line since they would lose an extra $40000 if they dropped".

Explanation:

                                              Keep                                         Drop

Loss                             $100000 (given)                                    -

Fixed asset loss                      -                                     (300000-160000)

Loss                                     $100000                                    140000

If dropped, so the $40000 damage would be included. Such that the correct approach is "keeping the product line since they would lose an extra $40000 if they dropped."

FVi is the value at the end of a particular period.

PV is price value.
