Answer:

A. An encyclopedia article about the history of NASA and its accomplishments.

Explanation:

This is the source that would provide the best and most credible support for this claim. Our purpose is to demonstrate that NASA deserves to survive as an institution. In order to do so, we need to demonstrate that NASA's accomplishments throughout its existence have been significant. The encyclopedia article can best help us prove it.

Alla [95]

Prions are a type of defective proteins, that can cause normal proteins to turn into defective, infectious ones: prion, word that comes from the term "proteinaceous infectious particle"; prions can cause neurodegenerative diseases. Unfortunately, even after scientists identified prions as the causal agents of the "mad cow" disease and others like the "kuru" (discovered in New Guinea, amongst a tribe that practiced cannibalism)  and the "scrapie", the authorities tried to hide the epidemic, they took too long to ban the feeding of animals with mixes that included proteins from infected animals, so if authorities had implemented more actions since at least 1993 perhaps the epidemic could have been controlled earlier, instead of almost 25 years after the disease was identified.

In this sense, the author takes us step by step in the process (over time) and illustrates how people got frustrated because of the reaction of the government: nothing was done about the disease until over ten years after its discovery.

Lines 102–122: What are the disturbing images with which Sinclair concludes the selection? Why might Sinclair have chosen to end
mezya [45]

Answer:

Sinclair presents images of hands full of cuts and covered with poisoned blood.

Explanation:

Through the context of your question, we can see that you are referring to "From The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair. In this work, the author reports the terrible conditions of the slaughterhouses in the USA, both in relation to the quality of the meat sold, hygiene and working conditions, mainly in relation to the immigrants who worked in this industry.

Sinclair's descriptions shocked the public and an example of this can be seen on lines 102-122, where Sinclair presents disturbing images of the hands of the workers who had several cuts and were covered in blood. He did this to show the poor working conditions, hygiene and condensation.
