Because he had a plan to blind the cyclops and escape. So with that being said if he told the cyclops his name than that would ruin his whole plan.

First lets do some background research. Cyclops are very mean, and they dont like to follow rules. When cyclops yell out, they also call their family/ other cyclops to help them out.

So when Odysseus and his men stabbed Polyphemus in the eye to make him blind, He yelled out "Nobody hurt me" So when all the other cyclops heard that they thought, oh well. i guess no ones hurting him. so they didnt go to help the hurt Polyphemus.

I hope this confusion makes sense.

tip: if you didnt know already, the cyclops name is Polyphemus.

I hope you get a passing score on that test. So sorry im so late.

olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer: here your answer

Explanation: Providing evidence as part of your arguments in a discussion helps your statements and claims to be more than opinions, but instead, such arguments are turned into facts, that can not be debated and can help you support the way you present your ideas in a discussion.
