  • It was way faster to trade with sea as a traveling because there is no traffic and you can go alot faster as there is not stop signs and you only stop when the captain feels the need.
  • It was cheeper to travel by boat as coal was used to power boats or steam powered boats which were very cheap, as why they were so popular
  • They carried more cargo becuase the boat could have many stories for cargo or have a wide top of it where it can store many many cargo, much more than the average land vehicle.

Advances in technology and increased political stability caused an increase in trade. The opening of more trade routes caused travelers to exchange many things: animals, spices, ideas, and diseases.
