Imagine that there are 5 genes controlling skin color, & the more dominant alleles there are, the darker the skin. AABBCCDDEE would be the genotype for the darkest skin. aabbccddee would be the lightest skin. AaBbCcDdEe would be the most moderate skin color.

Answer;

Polygenic traits are quantitative because their phenotype expression depends on several different alleles found on different chromosomes.

Explanation;

-Using human skin color as an example of polygenic inheritance.

-If we assume that three dominant capital letter genes (A, B and C) control dark pigmentation because more melanin is produced. The recessive alleles of these three genes (a, b & c) control light pigmentation because lower amounts of melanin are produced.

-A genotype with all dominant capital genes (AABBCC) has the maximum amount of melanin and very dark skin. A genotype with all recessive small case genes (aabbcc) has the lowest amount of melanin and very light skin.

-In this case each dominant capital gene produces one unit of skin color, therefore, a wide range of intermediate skin colors are produced depending on the number of dominant capital genes.

In the natural carbon cycle, the ocean influences climate by controlling CO2 levels primarily through ________________ and _____
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

In the natural carbon cycle, the ocean influences climate by controlling CO2 levels primarily through biological activity and massive geological events.

Explanation:

Carbon flows in an interchange across each reservoir called the carbon cycle, which has gradual and rapid components. Any cycle shift which moves carbon from one reservoir places more carbon in another reservoirs.Changes that bring carbon dioxide into the environment contribute to higher Earth temperatures.

The carbon cycle appears to keep the balance over the long term that prohibits all Earth's carbon from atmospheric entry or being deposited entirely in rocks. That equilibrium helps to keep the temperature on Earth fairly stable, just like a thermostat.

Some bacteria live in the roots of plants like soybeans and peas. What is the role of these bacteria in the nitrogen cycle?
yarga [219]
The answer is D. We can't directly use the nitrogen from the air so we need the bacteria to change it into something that we can use.
