The correct answer is C) They were not legally allowed to settle to the east of the line.

This map shows the Proclamation Line of 1763, which was created after the end of the French and Indian War. The colonists were offended by the Proclamation Line because they were not legally allowed to settle to the east of the line.

The American colonists were upset by this decision made by the British government and of course, many Americans did not follow this rule and this caused many conflicts with the English. A series of conflicts and differences due to the heavy taxation imposed by the English crown and the fact that the American colonists did not have voice or representation is the British Parliament were major causes of the American Revolutionary War.

american colonists' strong principles were the main reason they decided to declare their independence from britain.
Deffense [45]
The answer is, To argue for, there's the obvious, which is that the colonists didn't like their lack of voice within British Parliament. They also didn't like how Britain was treating other colonies, what would become Canada for instance, with similar laws and codes seen in the US colonies. You could also argue that it was a more financial decision, as the taxes placed upon the colonies and the restrictions on trade were hurting American businesses. Honestly, an argument combining the two would probably be more rounded.
