To get this answer basically you have to play with the numbers, till you find ones that match. It may get irritating but if you keep trying you'll eventually find the right ones.
So...
If he is only able to purchase $450.00 worth of gift cards, and a total of 15,
begin by.

Doing simple math.
Take
$50.00 * 5 (You know he can purchase one 50 card for sure because of the $50. in $4<span>50
$50.00 * 5 = $250.00
</span>Next take <span>15-5 = 10 </span>(Amount of gift cards left to purchase)
Finally Take <span>$20 * 10 = $200
</span>
When you add your restaurant give card and movie gift card amount you will receive the answer of $450.00 (to double check your answer)

When you add 5 + 10 you will receive the <span>answer of 15 </span>(to check the amount he has to purchase<span>)
</span><span>
<u>The correct answer would be </u>
<u>Mr. Thomas can purchase a total of 5 restaurant gift cards and 10 movie gift cards to give to his employees</u></span>

2. Find the distance between the two points. Round to the nearest tenth if necessary.
Damm [24]

Answer:

\boxed{D = 15.8\ units}

Step-by-step explanation:

The coordinates are (0,9) and (-8,-4)

Distance Formula = \sqrt{(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2}

D = \sqrt{(-8-0)^2+(-4-9)^2}

D = \sqrt{(-8)^2+(-13)^2}

D = \sqrt{81+169}

D = \sqrt{250}

D = 15.8 units

Now for another

{27}^{ \frac{ - 2}{3} }  \\  {3}^{3 \times  \frac{ - 2}{3} }  \\  {3}^{ - 2} \\   \frac{1}{9}

Please help me on this
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer: option a.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the expression \sqrt{8^{17}}, you need to remember:

The Product of powers property:

a^m*a^n=a^{(m+n)}

The Power of a power property:

(a^m)^n=a^{mn}

And:

\sqrt[n]{a^n}=a

Therefore, as the index of the radical is 2, you can rewrite 8^{17} as:

8^{17}=8^{16}*8

Rewrite this and simplify. Then:

 =\sqrt{8^{17}}

=\sqrt{8^{16}*8}=\sqrt{8^{16}}\sqrt{8}=\sqrt{(8^{8})^2}\sqrt{8}=8^8\sqrt{8}

This matches with the option a.

Find an equation for the inverse for each of the following.
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer:

  • <em>To solve these first swap x and y, solve for y and name it inverse function</em>

3. <u>y = -8x + 2</u>

  • x = -8y + 2
  • 8y = -x + 2
  • y = -x/8 + 2/8
  • y = -(18)x + 1/4

f⁻¹(x) = -(18)x + 1/4

-----------------------------------------

4.<u> y = (2/3)x - 5</u>

  • x = (2/3)y - 5
  • (2/3)y = x + 5
  • y = (3/2)x + (3/2)5
  • y = 1.5x + 7.5

f⁻¹(x) = 1.5x + 7.5

-----------------------------------------

5. <u>f(x) = 2x² - 6</u>

  • x = 2y² - 6
  • 2y² = x + 6
  • y² = 1/2x + 3
  • y = \sqrt{1/2x + 3}

f⁻¹(x) = \sqrt{1/2x + 3}

-----------------------------------------

6. <u>y = (x - 3)²</u>

  • x = (y - 3)²
  • \sqrt{x} = y - 3
  • y = 3 + \sqrt{x}

f⁻¹(x) = 3 +  \sqrt{x}
