Why did it take 125 years to establish all 13 of the original colonies?
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

I don't have an exact answer but here is what I think: Considering how many different people there were, who established each colonies,  (The Duke of York establishes New York, Pennsylvania is established by William Penn, etc.) Can you imagine how long it must of taken to find, all these different colonies, without it already being a colonized place? Considering everything was still new to these 'explorers' It takes a long time to establish something like colonies. Some of them were just founded, then established too.

Studying. I had to do some studying.

5. Why did Lincoln need a military victory before he could announce the emancipation of slaves in southern states?
Novosadov [1.4K]
D. He didn't want the Emancipation Proclamation to look like an act of desperation.

It looked great on an international scale too. England and France were looking into backing the south early on. Adding the issue of slavery, in part, made them back off. They didn't want it to look like they were okay with slavery... Even though they were definitely benefiting from it.

tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

Yes, it was a successful expedition

Explanation:

It was a successful and adventurous expedition because they were the first Americans to see the Pacific Ocean and to explore and map a route and trail to the Pacific Ocean. Being the first Americans to see the Pacific Ocean  indecates this was a successful mission because it made Americans view Lewis and Clark as a hero. Being the first to map and route to the Pacific Ocean made new opportunities to anyone which lead to the Western Expansion. In conclusion, I think Lewis and Clark's expedition was a success.
