The United States President Jimmy Carter, in his address in April, 1979, about energy problems, stated that, the United States is running out of source of energy reserves, specifically, the oil and natural gas. He however, suggested that, United States should embrace, conservation of source of energy, and then proposed the use of solar energy in most homes in the country.

This, according to him is for the purpose of protecting the American jobs, environment, standard of living, and future.

Hence, it can be concluded that President Carter shape America’s views on energy consumption during his presidency as he helped shift Americans’ focus from oil production to renewable energy.
