The Great Plains region is assembled by: the States of Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota; portions of Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming
; aswell as certain areas within the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
What all these places share in common is a remarkable expansion of flat land at their disposal and great conditions for dry-farming and cattle ranching. Naturally, the way to make a living in these regions is almost exclusively through farming activities.
