Yes. Any square is a scaled copy of any other. The scale factor for two same-size squares is 1.

1. A figure that shows a real figure with accurate sizes reduced or enlarged by a certain amount (the scale factor) is called scale copy.

2. Two figures are congruent if they are the same size and shape - that is, if their corresponding angles and sides are equal (or scaled copies with scale factor 1).

3. Square is a quadrilateral that has equal sides and every angle is a right angle (90°).

If you have two squares with the same side lengths, then they have

  • congruent corresponding sides (they are all equal);
  • congruent corresponding angles (they are all right).

This means that two squares with the same side lengths are congruent or are scaled copies of each other (with scale factor 1).

Tanya runs diagonally across a rectangular field that has a length of 40 yards and a width of 30 yards. How far did Tanya run?
Yuliya22 [10]

Tanya run 50 yards across the diagonal of the rectangular field.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1 :

  • Length of the rectangular field = 40 yards
  • width of the rectangular field = 30 yards

Step 2 :

Measure of the diagonal = √(length^2 + width^2 )

Step 3 :

Diagonal = √(40^2 + 30^2 )

               = √(1600 + 900)

               = √2500

               = ±50

Step 4 :

Since distance cannot be negative, The measure of diagonal = 50 yards.

∴ Tanya runs diagonally across a rectangular field is 50 yards.

What is the value of x in this figure?
8090 [49]
This is a 45-45-90 triangle and the ratios of the sides are 1 : 1 : sqrt2 where sqrt2 is the length of the hypotenuse ( longest side)

So the measure of x = 12 sqrt2 which is the first choice.

Use the diagram to fill in the blanks
x=
m∠=
faust18 [17]

Answer:

x = 21, m∠A = 23°, the measure of angle in the right = 67°

Step-by-step explanation:

The angles of a triangle sum up to 180°.

Right angles equals to 90°.

Thus, (2x - 19)° + (3x + 4)° + 90° = 180°

=> 5x + 75 = 180

=> 5x = 105

=> x = 21

m∠A=> 2(21) -19 = 23°

the measure of angle in the right=> 3(21) + 4 = 67°
