Hello There!

To find the quotient of \frac{3}{4} ÷ \frac{1}{8},

we need to multiply by the reciprocal meaning that the fraction

\frac{3}{4} stays the same but we flip the numerator and

denominator for our second fraction so it will end up being

\frac{8}{1} which is the same thing as 8 so the second choice

is your answer.

PlEase explain where the decimal and zero comes in for 4840/90?
Anika [276]

Answer:

Read my explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Since they both end with a 0, you can just cancel it out. So you'd have 484/9.

The answer to that is 53.7777777777...

So the decimal would come before the 3 and after the 7.

I hope this helped and have a good rest of your day!

The area of the rectangle is 50 yd2. What is the formula that shows the length of side y?
AVprozaik [17]
Let L = lengthLet W = width Length is 5 yd less than twice the width  ==>  L = 2*W - 5 Area is 52 yd^2  ==>  52 = L*W Substitute the value for L from the 1st equation into the 2nd equation
52 = (2*W - 5) * W52 = 2*W^2 - 5*W0 = 2*W^2 - 5*W - 52 0 = (2W - 13)*(W + 4) 2W - 13 = 0  or  W + 4 = 0W = 13/2      or  W = -4 Width cannot be negative so discard W = -4  W = 13/2  ==>  L = 2*(13/2) - 5 = 13 - 5 = 8  So the width is 13/2 yards and the length is 8 yards  Check:  2*(13/2) - 5 = 13 - 5 = 8             (13/2)*8 = 4*13 = 52 yd^2
