It is considered that the compass may have reached Middle East and then to Europe. the compass had considerable impact on the sea travel in Mediterranean. As there was practise to stop sea travel during October and April, the compasses helped in development of better chart and the sailing season could start late in January or February and end in December. The additional months were of Economic importance and helped in increasing the economic activities.
