Answer:

Consider the complete question is,

'For each customer, a bakery charges p dollars for the first loaf of bread bought by the customer and charges q dollars for each additional loaf bought by the customer. What is the value of p ?

(1) A customer who buys 2 loaves is charged 10 percent less per loaf than a customer who buys a single loaf.

(2) A customer who buys 6 loaves of bread is charged 10 dollars.

Solution :

Since, the charges of first loaf = p dollars,

Charges for each additional loaf = q dollars

Thus, the total charges for x additional loaf = p + qx

Charges for 1 loaf = p,

Charges for 2 loaf per loaf = (p + q)/2

According to the question,

\frac{p + q}{2} = (100-10)\%\text{ of } p

\frac{p + q}{2} = 90%\text{ of }p

p + q = 1.8p

p + q - 1.8p = 0

-0.8p + q = 0 .....................(1),

Again according to the question,

p + 5q = 10 .....................(2),

Equation (2) - 5 × equation (1),

p + 4p = 10

5p = 10

⇒ p = 2

Hence, the value of p would be 2.

Jaxon has s packs of 8 crazy straws. He divided the crazy straws into 2 equal bags. Now, he has 224 crazy straws in each bag. Ho
spayn [35]

Answer:

56 packs of crazy straws

Step-by-step explanation:

1. 224 x 2= 448 *the total straws*

2. Once you have that, Divide the 448 by 8 so you can find out the packages he started with. You get 56.

3. Check your work by doing 56 x 8, which is 448, just to make sure.

4. Divide 448 by two which gives you 224, which is what you started with.

5 and 1/3 × 3 and 3/4
tresset_1 [31]
We'll first off convert the mixed fractions to "improper", and then multiply.

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{5\frac{1}{3}}\implies \cfrac{5\cdot 3+1}{3}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{16}{3}}
\\\\\\
\stackrel{mixed}{3\frac{3}{4}}\implies \cfrac{3\cdot 4+3}{4}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{15}{4}}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{16}{3}\times \cfrac{15}{4}\implies \cfrac{15}{3}\times \cfrac{16}{4}\implies 5\times 4\implies 20

1,478 people went to the movies on Saturday, and 956 people went to the movies on
wlad13 [49]

The percent decrease in people going to the movies from Saturday to Sunday is 35.3%

Step-by-step explanation:

The percent decrease is given by the formula:

Percent\ decrease = \frac{Decrease}{Old\ Value}*100\\where \\Decrease = Old\ value -New\ value\\

Given

New Value = 956

Old Value = 1478

Decrease = 1478-956

= 522

Percent\ decrease= \frac{522}{1478}*100\\=0.353*100\\=35.3\%

The percent decrease in people going to the movies from Saturday to Sunday is 35.3%
