In the famous debates between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas, it is Overlooked they had A similar perspective on power. Douglas began the debate With a brief that a citizen should have a Choice how to use his own authority. Thus he believed man could choose to be A slave master and do as he pleases as an Authority, while Lincoln Similarity believes in the freedom of choice, but only difference that all man were equal slavery is never a solution. The major difference of opinion were obvious. Douglas believed in maintaining slavery and spreading it nationwide. While Lincoln believes slavery was unconstitutional and degrading.

Some of the negative aspects were the working conditions, child labor, unsafe food conditions. people were migrating to the cities where living quarters were tight, education was lacking with very few graduating from high school as they needed to work to help support the family.  Racial inequality was on the rise with seperation of people based on where they immigrated from as well as the color of their skin. Monopolies were formed .
