Explanation:

In North AmericaThe United States purchased Alaska from Russia in 1867. The United States increased its influence in foreign countries and tried to increase their territories in late 1800s. There were three main reason behind this expansion and increasing influence: Economic, Military and Moral.

Economic:-

In the late 1800s the global industrialization was on its peak and this increased the demand of trade in other countries as well. Overseas trading created new job opportunity for American workers and new business opportunities for American companies to rise as multi-national companies.

Military:-

The United States started using its military power so that they can native Americans can be pushed onto reservations. The U.S. started building new ships which were majorly the merchant ships that were used to increase sea transport. The military power was used to protect settlers and the trading ways and sea ports of the United States.

Moral:-

There was a feeling of superiority in Americans and Europeans because they believed that the Christianity is the highest and most pious religion in the whole world. So they believed that they have moralistic superiority than everyone else. That's why they used to send their missionaries to different foreign countries so that they can convert more and more people into Christian and can promote Christianity.
