Let's call the lenght of one side of cube x a. The volume of cube x is: a^3
Call one side of cube y b and similarly we have the volume of cube y: b^3
Because the volume of cube x divided by the volume of cube y is 27, we have:
(a^3)/(b^3)=27=3^3
so a/b = 3
the answer is 3
