Answer;

(c) It can bond with other carbon atoms that are bonded to other molecules

Explaation;

-Carbon is the only element that can form so many different compounds because each carbon atom can form four chemical bonds to other atoms, and because the carbon atom is just the right, small size to fit in comfortably as parts of very large molecules.

-Carbon chains can bond with carbon rings to form very large, complex molecules. These large molecules can be made of many small molecules that are bonded together.

How are supernovae involved in new planet formation?
Lisa [10]
Supernovae refer to the last stages in a star's life, when it explodes and disappears completely. After this explosion, there are several things that can happen - a black hole may appear or there may be star dust hovering in the universe. Well, this dust, and other materials that came from the massive star that exploded are used to create new planets. Every planet we know of emerged from the dust and particles in the universe - so this means that the same dust coming from supernovae can form new planets as well.

Which of the following terms does not refer to one of the four types of potentially infectious types of microorganisms?
Doss [256]

Answer:

D. toxins

Explanation:

Toxins are not microorganisms, in fact they are non-living substances/chemicals which can cause infection in our body. Toxins may be produced by microorganisms but they are themselves not microorganisms. Some of the examples of toxins produced by microorganisms are botulinum toxin A, tetanus toxin A, muscarine etc.

Other options can refer to potentially infectious type of microorganisms. Option A. talks about microbes, among microbes some are pathogenic. Option B. talks about pathogenic, as the name indicates will be infectious for sure.

Option C. talks about nonpathogenic, it may be non pathogenic at a time but later on it can be pathogenic. For example: some vaccines use inactivated microbes which are non pathogenic for generating antibodies in the body but later on in the human body when they get optimum conditions for growth they can turn pathogenic and start infecting our body.

How can we use rocks to determine how an area used to look in the past?
Kamila [148]
Through looking at layers of rock you can tell what kind of things transpired. If you find Fish fossils you can assume that at one point in time, there may have been a body of water of some sort. if you find certain plants, you can deduce that there was a forest or a grassy pasture. Or if there are variations in the layer you may be able to tell what kind of soil was there at one point in time, or maybe if there is volcanic rock, you could rightly assume there was a volcanic eruption at some point.
