Coal is a natural resources which is  responsible for driving the industry of China's power plants. Almost 60% of the energy used in China comes from coal.

  • It is the largest consumer and producer of coal around the world. It also has the third-largest coal reserves in the world sitting just a step behind the Russia and United states.
  • There are vast numbers of huge coal reserves in the northern region of the country and it is expected to have 30 year's worth of coal reserve.
  • The coal consumption is hugely dominated by the Industrial sector with the residential sector falling behind it.
  • The country also imports additional coals from countries such as Australia and Indonesia.

In the current events, China has disapproved the construction of coal-fired plants for the environment.
