I like to think of radicals (or square roots) just as x terms-
here, we have the equivalent (kind of) to x * 4x.
Since these are both x terms and 4x= x*x*x*x, we can simply write 5x.

Im not sure what your teacher is asking you to communicate, but most simply would like to see evidence that you understand the material rather than simply looking up the answer... (i mean without reading an explanation xD)
4√x= √x*√x*√x*√xso √x • 4√x =5√x

Reika [66]

Answer:

So I believe it would be 48

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume = length times width times height

So if we have a height of four ft we can put that into our equation

V = length x width x 4

If the face is 12 and it is a square then it the width and length have to be 4 and 3

V = 4 x 3 x 4  or V = 12 x 4

So V = 48

Hope this helps :)

If m=(2x+1) and n=(6) and m+n=(9). Find x<br>
gregori [183]

Answer:

\Large \boxed{x=1}

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute m=(2x+1) and n=(6) in m+n=(9).

We are finding the value of the x variable.

2x+1+6=9

Add the numbers on the left side of the equation.

2x+7=9

Subtract 7 from both sides.

2x+7-7=9-7

2x=2

Divide both sides by 2.

\displaystyle \frac{2x}{2}=\frac{2}{2}

x=1

The value of the x variable is 1.
