During the Korean War, the US was supporting South Korea. South Korea was formerly a part of the Japanese Empire. Japan had surrendered South Korea to General Hodge. Later on, South Korea was recognized as the People’s Republic of Korea, headed by Syngman Rhee.

Since people (who vote) decided their unavoidable future, they didn't want to take any strong stances on anything and just went with the flow and played the tune that the people wanted to hear. They needed to stay in power and not lose it for taking a serious stance.........
